Alice wants to send a valuable item to Bob through a courier. The courier is dishonest and will steal anything sent unlocked. Alice and Bob each have padlocks, but they don't have keys to each other's padlocks. They can communicate via courier (multiple trips) — the courier cannot pick locks.
How can Alice send the item to Bob securely?
