The Problem
Five pirates (A, B, C, D, E in descending seniority) must divide 100 gold coins. The most senior pirate proposes a split; if at least half (including the proposer) accept, it passes. Otherwise she walks the plank and the next pirate proposes. Pirates are rational: they prefer more gold, and prefer to throw the proposer overboard if indifferent.
